Renaud Fontain

December 1999 letter written by Lucile Cozon, now back home in France, to Renaud's parents enclosing a photo album assembled by all of the Exchange Students:

I’m taking my pen tonight, on behalf of all the guys who were hosted in Canada in District 5040 during the years '98 and '99. On behalf of our group, even if we are back in our country and far away from each other, and also with all the Rotarians from District 5040 that I send you this photo album and letter.

Renaud is a fantastic and awesome friend for all of us. All together, we spent wonderful and unforgettable times between our weekends with Rotary, emails and phone calls! Happy to live, a smile on his lips, our Renaud is one of us. He always has a joke to say, a nice look to give, a good humour….with him we had so many giggles. Enthusiastic, and really motivated he enjoys his life, in his mountains in Terrace….life is beautiful! !

Stand up on the skis, proud with the ski sticks in his hands, he skies on  the runs with powder….and he’s not scared to go fast….Our "Renaud de Belgique" as Regan used to say so often, likes to have fun and be a nice friend for all of us….with his Belgium chocolate….He’s singing the Old French song, and when his voice of tenor sings….what a fun time! So many souvenirs!

So many wonderful adventures….And then, our Renaud likes to dream…yes, he’s a big dreamer…Life is beautiful….but why not going on the moon? (Renaud wished to walk on the moon during our show in PG) Renaud our big brother from Belgium, with him we are forming the big Family of the exchange students…

So last June we decided all together to put together some nice pictures, beautiful souvenirs which will be forever live with us, in our hearts. I finally put them all together in this album. I send it to you today; we thought with the Rotarians and all the students that you’ll be happy to have it.

Lucile and all the Exchange Students and Rotarians from District 5040
